Book + Exhibition Design

Throughout history, Queer folks have endeavored hardships throughout society. Segregated by societal norms, Queer folks often face discrimination based on looking different. The community thrives by celebrating their survival against hatred and embracing love. Since the Stonewall riot of 1969, Queer artists have begun emerging and assuming their identity to create their artworks supporting equality. These Queer artists have fought for their lives to spread knowledge and love to everyone. Today, while equality is closer to reality, there is much needed to be done for Queer folks to be normalized within society.

Make it Queer is an art exhibition that celebrates LGBTQ+ artworks that made impacts on society. Without their brave painting, Queer rights wouldn’t have had existed today. The rise of gay awareness was established in the late 20th century when sexual liberalization became mainstream within society. This exhibition hosts artworks from artists that stem from the era of the Stonewall Inn riot towards the modern-day. This would include Andy Warhol, Cathrine Opie, David Hockney, David Wojnarowicz, Elle Perez, Keith Haring, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Zanele Muholi.
